Year 5 and 6 Multi Sports –
One of the afterschool clubs that runs on a Monday is Multi Sports for years 5 and 6. The club includes children participating in a variety of sports, both indoor and outdoor. The students have experienced playing sports like, rounder’s, dodgeball, Danish long ball, netball, and cricket. This after school club is a great way for pupils to experience new sports, and gives them a chance to participate in sports that aren’t as popular as others.
Year 5 and 6 Football –
This club focuses on students who want to participate in playing football, and further developing their ability. This club also leads to a year 5 and 6 football team which will represent the school in footballing fixtures throughout the year.
Year 3 and 4 Football –
Year 3 and 4 football also runs afterschool on Monday. This is for pupils who are keen to play football and develop their football skills. Certain students from this club will also be selected to represent Chilwell Croft Academy in football matches and football tournaments against other schools throughout the year.
Year 5 and 6 Athletics –
Athletics club runs on a Tuesday, it focuses on training for athletic events, such as running, throwing, jumping, but also focuses on increasing pupils endurance, speed, strength and power. All in preparation for an athletics competition at the end of the year.
Year 1 and 2 Mini Movers –
Year 1 and 2 have a club on Wednesday called mini movers, this club focuses on children developing their agility, balance and coordination along with their power, reactions and speed.
Year 3 and 4 Multi Sports –
This afterschool club gives students from year 3 and 4 the opportunity to experience playing new sports and develop their current sporting ability.
Year 5 and 6 Basketball –
This basketball club focuses on preparing pupils for basketball tournaments throughout the year, focusing on tactics, basketball fundamentals and teamwork.
Year 1 and 2 Multi Sports –
Similar to the other multi sports clubs, however this club focuses more on core sporting skills, playground games, and developing pupils ability in different sports.
Year 3 and 4 Basketball –
This club has a more focus on basketball fundamentals, like lay ups, passing, dribbling, and different types of shots.
Year 4, 5 and 6 Girls Football –
Girls football is for pupils that are eager to learn about the game of football, learn different skills, develop skills, and prepare for tournaments throughout the year.
Year 5 and 6 Volleyball –
This club focuses on giving the pupils an experience in playing volleyball, focusing on the rules, skills, and teamwork required in the game of volleyball.
Gifted and Talented
Gifted and talented is a quick 30 minute football session for pupils who have been specifically selected. In the sessions the selected children will develop their football skills even further enabling them to grow as footballers. Year 3 and 4 have a gifted and talented slot on Tuesday afternoons, with 30 minute session for the boys, and a 30 minute session for the girls, whereas years 5 and 6 have their slot of Wednesday afternoons.
