Animanls

Year 4E

4E have been learning about animals and their habitats.

For this art project the children began by each drawing a toy animal onto white card, focusing on its outside shape.

Once the drawing was complete the children cut out their animal, discarding the animal shape and keeping the negative space section.  They then chose images of the environment where their animal lived, for example; desert, rain forest, arctic, woodland, and using cameras photographed their artwork in front of this environment.

As a development from this, the children photographed their artwork around the school, capturing a different type of environment.

The resulting artwork consists of a series of photographs, each comprising an animal cut-out and an accompanying background image.
