CURRICULUM

Land Art and British artist

Year 2

Both Year 2 classes have been learning about Land Art and British artist Andy Goldsworthy.

The project began with the children looking at a portfolio of artwork by Andy Goldsworthy and discussing the artists’ use of natural forms when making his work.

Using a range of natural forms including: leaves, pinecones, shells and conkers, the children made observational drawings, before introducing mono-printing and painting techniques to their work.  The imagery created was photocopied and collaged together by each Year 2 class, in order to produce two collaborative ‘land art’ artworks.

The displayed artwork shows the imagery created by the children, using printing, painting and collage techniques, reminiscent of Goldsworthy’s Land Art.
