Year 4 children have been learning the Victorians.
For this art project the children were introduced to Victorian artist William Morris. Morris was famous for creating highly decorative floral artwork, used within his wallpaper and fabric designs.
Taking inspiration from Morris’ design work, the children produced their own artwork incorporating flowers and fruits. Firstly using pencil to create line drawing, before applying layers of Gouache paint to develop colour and tone.
The resulting artwork consists of all thirty designs pieced together in a grid format to highlight the range of approaches the children made in response to the brief.
